Topic: OpenStack - An Introduction to Micro-Segmentation and Neutron SFC

Migrating to cloud environments can be intimidating and scary at times. At first it seems like there is a total lack of control and security within cloud environments and it can leave people wondering how secure and protected are their instances in OpenStack.

There are always questions around how do I protect instances from unwanted network access, what happens with their current firewall and load balancer and how do they protect end users if anyone can build instances and networks anywhere.

We will review micro-segmentation to determine how security is handled and is improved when using OpenStack and how this compares to a more traditional data center layout. We will also discover how using SDN (Software Defined Networking) we can add security layers that would normally be costly or not possible with traditional setups.
